Member Stephen McKinley Taken From Us in Accident SEA extends its condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of longtime member Stephen McKinley of Enfield. Mr. McKinley was on duty in his position as maintenance supervisor for the N.H. Department of Transportation when he was taken from us in a single-car motor vehicle accident in Route 112 in Easton, on Wednesday, Aug. 24. A member since November 1977, Mr. McKinley was very active in Chapter 48. He served as a chapter president, vice president, councilor, and a member of the sub-unit bargaining committee. He also served on the DOT's safety and joint loss management committees for many years. Chapter President Bob Bergeron recalls attending conventions with Mr. McKinley for more than 20 years. In addition to his union service, Bergeron noted that Mr. McKinley was active in his church and in the Boy Scouts. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, and three sons, Joshua, David and Kevin. "I am deeply saddened at this loss; I considered him a good friend," said Anna-Marie Welch, the staff field representative for DOT. "I could always count on him to get information out to the membership, and to represent members on committees. Steve was one of those people who had the ability to laugh at himself. He was always smiling. He cared a lot about people, and about doing the right thing." The loss of Stephen McKinley is felt deeply by his brothers and sisters of the SEA. We will miss him.
